Notes

As long as you don't object to sharing a beach with a few cows, Barcaggio is one of the loveliest beaches in Corsica and backed by maquis and trees. There is also a very small group of houses here and one or two cafes.  Barcaggio is a picturesque village overlooking the crystalline sea of Corsica. From the town it is easy to reach the famous and wild beach of Cala better known as beach of Barcaggio (Plage de Barcaggio)  In this bay protected from the winds it is possible to live the curious experience of sharing the beach with some nice cows walking undisturbed on the shore. The beach here is made of fine white sand, extends for about 1 kilometer and is largely covered by posidonia plants that grow spontaneously here, the sea is crystal clear, the seabed is low for many meters even offshore, ideal for swimming families traveling with children or dogs that are allowed here. From Plage de Barcaggio there are some beautiful walks that are worth taking if you are here, especially the Sentiero dei Doganieri where you can take incredible panoramic photos during the journey.
